Anxiety, Stress, and Depression Therapy
Anxiety stress and depression are all challenging experiences in our day to day life that can make its impact on our mental health and wellbeing. While anxiety can accompany persistent thoughts of the future with waves of worry or fear, depression can manifest in a different way. It can involve feelings of sadness and hopelessness with difficulty in sleeping or eating. And finally, stress can occur when a person doubts their ability to cope with their surroundings, leading to feelings of exhaustion and tension. However, with the right support and resources, we can help you cultivate resilience to manage these challenges and live a more fulfilling life.
Trauma and PTSD Therapy
Trauma, in its essence is an experience(s) that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope, leaving a lasting imprint in their lives and affecting their emotional and psychological wellbeing. It can disrupt a person’s sense of safety and trust, and therefore, we understand that a person’s journey through these experiences is deeply personal and unique. Grief and Loss Therapy

Anger Management Therapy
Anger management therapy is designed in a manner that will allow individuals to gain insight into their thoughts and feelings about anger, as well as triggers and underlying causes behind anger. Anger management allows space for development of coping as well as communication skills that help respond to anger in a respectful and non-destructive way. What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a process where a trained mental health professional helps you explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and work toward personal goals in a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment. At Choosing To Heal, we offer in-person psychotherapy in Mississauga and secure online therapy across Ontario for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship issues.
Do I need a referral to see a Psychotherapist?
You do not need a referral to see a psychotherapist. You can make an appointment with the psychotherapist on your own.

Will my psychotherapy session be covered by OHIP or insurance?
Psychotherapy services in private practice are not covered by OHIP. OHIP generally only covers mental health services provided by physicians (such as psychiatrists) or in hospital and some publicly funded settings.​
Many extended health benefits and private insurance plans in Canada do cover psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Coverage varies by plan, so please check your benefits to see whether services provided by a “psychotherapist” is included. After each session, you will receive a receipt with your therapist’s registration number that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
How much are your fees, and how do I pay?
Individual psychotherapy sessions are 160 CAD for a 50–60 minute session. Couples and family therapy sessions are 195 CAD for a 50–60 minute session, and extended sessions follow a different fee structure depending on your needs.​




If you are experiencing financial constraints, we also offer low-cost therapy with supervised psychotherapist interns, at a reduced fee. Payment can be made by credit card through the Jane App’s secure online payment system. Your fee will only be processed after the session has been completed. You will receive a receipt you can submit to your extended health benefits or insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
Can I do therapy in a language other than English?
Yes. Our psychotherapists in Mississauga and across Ontario offer counselling in English, Urdu, Hindi, Ukrainian, Russian, and Persian/Dari, so you can attend therapy in the language you feel most comfortable with.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
All of our psychotherapists are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), have Master’s or PhD-level education, and bring extensive experience using different evidence-based modalities. Our team also offers a free 15minute consultation, so you can meet with a therapist, ask questions, and get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit before booking a full session.
